RENT GUILD HALL

Are you looking for something different from the typical studio space or black box for your performance, workshop, meeting or class? Centrally located on 29th Street between Fifth and Madison Avenue, historic Guild Hall is located on the second floor of the landmarked Little Church Around The Corner.  This unique private room is warm and inviting with carpeted floors, vaulted ceilings, and air-conditioning.

NOTE: Beginning May 1, 2023, masks are strongly recommended but no longer required in Guild Hall. For more details please visit www.actorsguild.org/covid-safety-protocols.
"A gem of a hidden theatre."
"Beautiful space with a great history. Staff is incredibly helpful and the location is great."
"This is one of the most beautiful venues in NYC! It's welcoming and warm (with a good a/c, too!) and they are doing important work. Support them!"

  • Maximum Occupancy: 65
  • Available Hours: after 6pm on weekdays, all day on Saturdays/Sundays (overnight hours are not available)
  • Lead Time for Booking a Rental: We require that all rentals be booked at least one week in advance.
  • Rental Rate: $90/hour. A discounted rate of $70/hour is available to EAG members (Join today to take advantage of the discount!)

  • Lobby: Guild Hall does NOT have a lobby or waiting area. Patrons are welcome to enjoy the Little Church’s garden (weather permitting) if they arrive before the house opens.
  • Personnel: An EAG staff member will be on site for the duration of your rental. They will open the space before your arrival and make sure you are coming into a clean and sanitized space. They will be available to troubleshoot or answer questions as needed and they will lock up following your event. Renters are responsible for providing all personnel required for their event including box office staff, board ops, stage managers, etc.

  • Directions: The Episcopal Actors’ Guild (EAG)/Guild Hall is located at 1 EAST 29th STREET, NYC 10016 (midblock between Madison and Fifth, between #3 and #9 East 29th Street) on the second floor of the Church of the Transfiguration (aka the Little Church Around the Corner). We are NOT the big church on the corner of Fifth Avenue; that's Marble Collegiate. When you arrive at the Little Church, enter through the main gate and go through the garden to the door marked Guild Hall (between the main doors into the church and the door to the parish office).
  • Getting Here: The closest subways are the R/W or 6 at 28th Street or the B/D/F/M or N/Q/R/W at 34th Street/Herald Square. If you are arriving by bus, take the M1, M2, M3, M5, M6, or M7.
  • Accessibility: Guild Hall is not a fully ADA-compliant venue. However, we do our best to accommodate all patrons. Guild Hall is located up one flight of stairs (20 steps). There is no elevator; however, a stair chair is available for those who need assistance making it up to or down from Guild Hall. EAG’s staff will be happy to assist patrons upon request.
  • Please Note: Guild Hall could work nicely for "by appointment" auditions but the space is not suitable for open calls.  In the past, Guild Hall has been approved by Actors Equity Association (AEA) as a Showcase venue; with a bathroom rider, Guild Hall has also been approved for solo shows being performed under a Transition Agreement.
